Weimar Forest

After two and a half hours on connected trains from Berlin, we arrived in Weimar, part of the former East Germany. The year 2011 was the 200th anniversary of the birth of the composer Franz Liszt, and a variety of events were held to commemorate the anniversary throughout the town. Weimar is a quiet and beautiful town that is surrounded by forests. The German poets Goethe and Schiller both lived here for a significant time, and it is said that Beethoven also visited the town frequently.
After checking in at the hotel, I visited Liszt's house, as well as the vibrantly green park where Goethe's holiday house is still situated.
