Archaeological Site of Delphi

The archaeological site of Delphi, which lie 150km to the northwest of Athens, are said to be where the goddess of the earth, Gaia, issued her oracles. In mythology, it was considered the center of the earth.
It takes around three hours by bus from Athens, and the ruins of the temple are located at an altitude of 1000m, hidden in the mountains. I marvel at how it ever got built in an age with no heavy construction machinery.
